Final Front Cover

This is my final front cover. I've made all the changes necessary and I did this on Photoshop rather than on Publisher.

Final Contents Page

This is my final contents page. I did this on Photoshop and changed it from previous drafts to look much more professional, in my opinion.

Final Double Page Spread

This is my final double page spread. Quite a few changes have been made from the previous draft and I've tried to make it look as professional as I can.

My Final Front Cover Analysis

Second Draft of My Double Page Spread

This is the second draft of my double page spread. I did this on publisher and this is what I wanted my final piece to look like but with a few changes, then I realised it didn't look professional enough, therefore I had to make more changes than I first expected that I'd have to.

First Draft of My Double Page Spread

This is the first draft of my double page spread. I focussed on the layout, and I included all the features I wanted to have, showing where I would like them to be placed. This was done on publisher.

Second Draft of My Contents Page

This is the second draft of my contents page. This is how I first thought I would like my contents page to look like before making any final changes. This was also done on Publisher.

First Draft of My Contents Page

This is the first draft of my contents page, just showing the main layout and features I will include.

Second Draft of My Magazine Front Cover

This is the second draft of my front cover. This was done on publisher and is just a first idea of how I wanted my magazine to look.

These are the photo's that I have taken for my magazine, including all the one's I have used and all the one's which I have decided not to use.
Originally I was going to use the photo's I had taken of my friends band for the front cover and double page spread but I decided the images I had taken did not look professional enough and the band, I think looked a bit too young for the audience of my magazine. However I did use one a couple of the images on my contents page of the band.
So I did a second photo shoot and took a range of solo photo's. These are the photo's I used for my front cover and double page spread. I took quite a lot of photo's so that I had a choice of what to use, and also so that I could get photo's from different aspects and get the lighting right. I also took a few other photo's of friends for the contents page because I needed a different range of about 8 photo's for my contents page.
Eventually I chose the photo's I wanted to use, which suited the genre of my magazine and looked professional enough. For my front cover I decided to use IMG_3703. This is a solo full length shot. The model is holding a bass guitar. My genre of music is Indie/Rock and a bass guitar is a major instrument in this genre of music. I felt that this image suited my magazine because the audience will be drawn to the bass guitar because they will relate it to the music. Also the model in this image is very rocky looking and looks as if she has some attitude due to her style and facial expressions, also relating to the genre of music.
For my contents page I used a range of images. I chose images that suited the genre of music and images that had attitude and expression, drawing the readers in.
I found 2 images that I had taken in the past year which would suit my contents page, so I added them in. Theses images are not in my contact sheet. They are the images shown below.

For my double page spread I used the same model as my front cover because the front cover main story is usually the story which continues on the double page spread. I decided to use IMG_3719. This image expresses a lot of attitude. People who will read my magazine would usually also have some attitude, meaning that they will be drawn to the attitude of the artist on my double page spread. She looks very rocky and is sat on an amp, next to a bass guitar. The amp and bass guitar represent the music and the model also represents the music. I felt that all the images I eventually decided to use were appropriate enough for my chosen genre of music and looked professional enough.
I edited my photos on photoshop, so that they looked more professional and also so that I could get the lighting, brightness and focus eg. to look right.
